OUR STORY
Healthcare technology has a reputation problem. Too often, tools sold to healthcare organisations are sold — not built for the people who use them. Contracts are signed, systems are implemented, and clinicians are left to navigate platforms designed around procurement criteria, not clinical reality.
HEMI was founded by clinicians who experienced this from the inside. Who understood not just the clinical burden, but the medicolegal exposure, the coordination failures, the language barriers, and the moments — late at night, mid-complaint, mid-consultation — when the right tool simply did not exist.
So they built it. What began as MedPlanner Sdn Bhd — a Malaysia Digital company headquartered in Kuala Lumpur — has become HEMI: a complete clinical intelligence ecosystem, powered by a proprietary AI engine, and operated globally through Health Medical Intelligence (HEMI) Ltd in the United Kingdom.

Founder & CEO
Dr. Ezam trained and worked as a specialist paediatrician in the UK. He founded MedPlanner after experiencing firsthand the gaps in clinical coordination, documentation, and medicolegal support that healthcare professionals face daily.
Lilyana Abdul Latiff
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Lilyana is a spirited entrepreneur having founded several companies in her 20 years of doing business. Her career has taken her through diverse industries such as education, consulting, product development, social media and now, healthcare.
Dr. Saifol Bahri Shamlan
Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer
Saifol has had a diverse career that began with software engineering in Boston and continued with technical work in Esso Malaysia and Standard Chartered Bank Asia-Pacific. With his wide range of experience from leadership roles in technology, online business, management, finance, human resources and corporate strategy, Saifol is the partner and co-founder responsible for finance and operations.
Hemy Sorfina Halim
Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer
Hemy is an entrepreneurial & commercially astute Key Account professional with more than 10 years of experience leading sales and channel management, spearheading business development initiatives and channeling value creation. She has delivered high-growth revenue in the government and private sectors, across the ICT, telecommunications, healthcare and biotech industries.
